Women's Lacrosse Topped by Stockton

Galloway, NJ| The St. Joseph's College women's lacrosse team suffered an 18-4 non-conference defeat to Stockton University on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles slide to 0-3 on the season as the Ospreys improve to 2-0.

Freshman Melissa Newman and sophomore Jordyn Juvelier were responsible for all the SJC scoring with two goals apiece.

Junior Tori Staker earned a game-best seven draw controls while dishing one assist.

Casey Shultz paced Stockton with seven points on four goals and three assists. Michelle Pascrell netted five goals with Jade Rivera pitching in with three.

After taking a 10-3 lead into the break, the Osprey held the Golden Eagles to just one goal in the second half to run away with the 18-4 win.

Stockton outshot St. Joseph's 41-14 with a 27-15 ground ball advantage.

SJC's Olivia Vetter finished with 11 saves on the day with Stockton's Stevie Ader and Jordan Hawkes had four and two saves, respectively.

St. Joseph's remains on the road as they travel to face Hartwick College on Saturday, March 14. Game time is set for 1:45 PM.
