The second-seeded St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's tennis team advanced to the Skyline Conference final after defeating third-seeded SUNY Purchase, 5-2, in the semifinal round on Thursday evening.

How it happened

• SJNY carried a 2-1 match lead into singles play after second- and third-doubles wins
• Wins by Corcoran and Lorraine Podlesny (2nd singles, 6-3, 6-3) put the Golden Eagles on the brink of victory (4-1), but Purchase's Nikita KJordzielewska claimed a 6-2, 7-6 win at first singles to extend the match (4-2)
• DiPalo's eventual third-singles win clinched the 5-2 win for the hosts
