Golf Team Plays Well at Saratoga Despite Brutal Weather

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - The men's golf team played well this weekend under brutal conditions at the Skidmore College Palamountain Invitational at Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course.    Peter LaPiana played very well against three of the top five ranked individuals in the Northeast Division III Region as he led SJC with a score of 157 (78, 79).

The weekend featured gusting winds up to 30 mph and temperatures changed from 60 degrees at the start to high 30's at the finish, and torrential-monsoon like rain.

"These were the three worst weather conditions to play the game of golf.  Yet, the guys braved it out and did their best - which actually was their average score for this season in our tournaments, collectively.   They played incredibly consistent golf despite the poor conditions," said Coach George Cangero.
