Maitre Named ECAC Metro Track & Field Rookie of the Week

Danbury, CT| Freshman David Maitre of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) was named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC) Division III Metro Region Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, one day after collecting Skyline Conference Male Track and Field Rookie of the Week honors.

Maitre won the 110-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 16.26 seconds at the United States Merchant Marine Academy's Coach 'O 'Invitational last week. The rookie also placed second in the high jump with a leap of 1.64-meters and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.46.

A first time ECAC honoree, Maitre has collected two Skyline Rookie of the Week nods this outdoor season.
