Track and Field Competes at NJAC Outdoor Championships

Ewing, NJ| The St. Joseph's College track and field teams competed at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track Championship held at the College of New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday.

Overall, the women's team placed eighth with ten total points with the men coming in ninth with 17 points.

Meagan Haviland placed seventh in the 1500-meter race with a time of 5:07.69 and Karli Murphy finishing 12th at 5:27.47. Murphy also competed in the 800-meter with a time of 2:36.09.

Erin MacDonell finished eighth in the 5000-meter race with a time of 19:25.37 and Stacy Sinkoff came in just behind her with a time of 21:21.77. Sinkoff also came in tenth in the 3000-Steeplechase with a new school record of 13:08.47.

The 4x400 relay team of Jennifer Holownia, Murphy, Haviland, and Shand finished with a time of 4:19.57 for a new school record.

For the men, Thomas Newham finished 10th in the 800-meter with a time of 1:59.26 and Ryan Haun finished came in ninth in the 5000-meter with a time of 16:01.75.

David Maitre took third and earned an NJAC All-Conference Honorable Mention nod in the 110-hurdles coming in with a new school record at 15.49.

The 4x100 relay team (Firgorito, Antonawich, Brandon Phan and Linbrunner) and the 4x400 relay team (Figorito, Newham, Phan, and Linbrunner) finished with times of 43.84 (school record) and 3:28.57 to come in fifth and sixth, respectively

On the field, Phan came in 12th in the Long Jump with a 5.86-meter mark. The freshman came in seventh in the Triple Jump recording a distance of 12.41. In the Shot Put, Joseph Wetzel placed 18th at 10.44 meters. Mason finished fourth posting a 3.20-meter mark in the women's Pole Vault.

The Golden Eagles return to action at the ECAC Outdoor Championships at Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday, May 16.
