Track and Field Hosts Spring Opener

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College track and field team opened its outdoor season hosting the St. Joseph's College Spring Opener at Danzi Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

For the men, Jeremy Anderson competed in the 800-meter race and finished third with a time of 2:15.39. Dennis O'Rourke placed second out of 20 in the 1500- meter with a time of 4:40.48. Daniel Antonowich took home first-place in the 400-hurdles (1:03.52).

On the women's side, Jennifer Holownia finished first in the 400-hurdles (1:17.26) and recorded a time of 28.50 in the 200-meter dash with Savannah McMaster (30.68), Lemonia Stroumbos (31.03) and Caroline ZacZek (32.28) finishing behind her. Karli Murphy (1:13.21) and McMaster (1:13.35) competed in the 400-meter finishing fourth and sixth, respectively.

Stephanie Surrusco and Victoria Quinones ran in the 1500-meter and finished with times of 6:27.72 and 7:20.

The Golden Eagles return to action at the Mt. St. Mary Invitational in Marlboro, NY on Saturday, March 30.
