Gagliardi Named Player of the Year, Three Others on Skyline All-Conference Teams

New York, NY| After completing a record-breaking season, senior Christina Gagliardi of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team was named Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year and graced the Skyline All-Conference First-Team.

Gagliardi was joined by fellow senior Jaclyn O'Shaughnessy on the First-Team when the conference announced its end-of-season awards on Monday morning. Senior Karissa Rutigliano and freshman Abbey Curcio appeared on the Second-Team while senior Jessica Passabile graced the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Gagliardi broke her own existing program records for total goals and points in a single season with tallies of 22 and 50, respectively. The forward led the conference in total points and shared the league-lead in total goals. She was fifth in the nation in goals- (1.375) and points-per-game (3.13) and tied for sixth in total goals. The Ronkonkoma, NY native graduates as the program leader in career goals (68) as well as points (155).

O'Shaughnessy and Rutigliano led an SJC backline that posted three shutouts on the year with a 2.87 goals-against average. Both players had career years offensively with two goals apiece and six and five points, respectively.

Curcio led the team with seven assists as a freshman and was second in goals (8) and total points (23). The forward collected 47 shots and tied for third in the conference with four game-winning goals.
