Haviland Named Skyline Runner of the Week

Women's Cross Country Weekly Report

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, and amongst the winners was sophomore Meagan Haviland of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team who was named Runner of the Week.

With a 4k time of 16:12.1, Haviland took second place at the 4th Annual Friends and Alumni Meet at Broadway Ave. Park in Sayville, NY on Friday evening. Haviland was edged by alumnus and current assistant coach Brittany Guttieri, who took first.

SJC trailed only its team of alumni, finishing second in a field of four.

Haviland, a four a five-time Skyline Rookie of the Week and a four-time ECAC Metro Rookie of the Week last season, secures her first-ever Skyline Runner of the Week accolade a year after appearing on the All-Conference First-Team.

Haviland and the cross country team return to action on Saturday, September 8 at the Fordham Fiasco at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx. The women's race begins at 10:00 am.
