ECAC Release

Danbury, CT| The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC) released its monthly award winners on Wednesday evening and amongst the winners was sophomore Meagan Haviland of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team, who was named Metro Region Runner of the Month.

Haviland opened the 2018 season with a second-place finish at the Friends and Alumni Meet on August 31 with a 4k time of 16:12.1.

After a 40th-place finish at the Division I-heavy Fordham Fiasco on September 8, the Sound Beach, NY native posted consecutive second-place finishes at the Bard College Invitational (Sept. 22) and the Mount St. Mary Invitational (Sept. 29.).

The 2018 Skyline Rookie of the Year's 25:12.0 6k time at the Bard Invitational powered the Golden Eagles to a first-place finish.

Haviland's strong start has already garnered a Skyline Conference Runner of the Week selection on September 4 and a pair of Weekly Honor Roll nods on September 10 and October 1. In 2017, Haviland was a four-time ECAC Metro Rookie of the Week.
