Equestrian Riding High with First Place Finish at LIU Post Show
Brookville, N.Y. — The Golden Eagles concluded their stellar fall season on the highest of notes on Sunday, finishing in first place as the High Point Team of the day with a total of 35 points. LIU Post hosted this final horse show of the season at the North Shore Equestrian Center in Brookville.
The team dominated across the board. Lexi Metz (Manorville, N.Y./ Eastport-South Manor) and Nikki Nobile (Amityville, N.Y./ St. John the Baptist) earned first place in Walk, Trot, Canter while Maclain Palumbo (Wheatley Heights, N.Y./ Half Hollow Hills West) and Rachel Russak (Huntington, N.Y./ Smithtown Christian) earned first in Novice Flat as well. Metz classed up and will be competing in Novice during the spring season.
Leah Uliano (Miller Place, N.Y./ Miller Place), who was named Reserve High Point Rider of the day, earned first place in both Intermediate Flat and Intermediate Fences.
