W. Basketball Downed By Rutgers-Camden in Non-Conference Action

Camden, N.J.– St. Joseph's (2-8) offensive woes continued Saturday afternoon as they dropped their fourth consecutive game to non-conference opponent-Rutgers-Camden (3-7), 69-42.

The Scarlet Raiders scored the first points of the game off of a jump shot, but the Golden Eagle were quick to follow up with a Jackie Zizzo three-pointer and a Teddi Petre(Ronkonkoma, N.Y. /Connetquot) layup, lifting the Eagles to a score of 5-2.

Quickly after SJC's 5-0 spurt, the Scarlet Raiders went on an offensive groove going on a 23-0 run. St. Joseph's had no answer for Rutgers-Camden's offense in the first half, surrounding 39 points total points compared to their own 16.

In the second period the Rutgers-Camden offensive dominance reigned supreme tallying thirty more points, however, the Lady Eagle's offense picked up the pace to almost outscore their opponent with 26 points.
