Centenary Cyclones and Lady Eagles Draw in 1-1 Double OT Game

Hackettstown, N.J. – The Lady Eagle's (1-7-2) four-game losing streak ended Monday afternoon after drawing against Centenary College Cyclones (3-5-1), 1-1.

The Centenary Cyclones owned the first half of the contest outshooting the Lady Eagles 7-3 and by scoring against the visitors in the 39th minute, 1-0.

St. Joseph's College offense entered the second half reenergized, bombarding the Centenary goalkeeper with 10 second half shots. With just under five minutes remaining in the contest the Eagles were able to breathe a sigh of relief when SJC's Kristin Caroll (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) registered her first goal of the season off a pass from Claire Brady (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches).

Both teams' goalkeepers were perfect in the second half ending the game in a 1-1 draw.

After 110 minutes of play the Lady Eagle goalkeeper Katie McGarrell (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) recorded six saves.

The St. Joseph's Golden Eagles will remain on the road as the team travels to Riverdale, N.Y. to take on the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline Conference game on October 4 at 1:00 p.m.
