Women's Volleyball Get Swept by Salve Regina

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball opened the SJC Invitational Tournament with a 3-0 loss to Salve Regina University Friday evening.

The Golden Eagles move to 9-8 on the season and the Seahawks improve to 12-7.

The match was bookended with a pair of 25-23 wins in favor of the SRU with a 25-15 victory in set two.

Kaitlin Williams led the Golden Eagles with six kills. Middles Jessica Young and Gillian Donaghy finished with four kills apiece. Setter Toni Parente recorded 15 assists and libero Danielle Senecal collected 14 digs.

Salve Regina's Cassidy Trablicy put down a match-high 14 kills and completed a double-double with 14 digs. Libero Katie Linekin also came away with 14 digs and setter Olivia Noonan totaled 34 assists.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center on Saturday, October 6 and face the College of Staten Island (10:00 am) and Ramapo College (4:00 pm).
