SJC, Skyline Conference Cancel Athletic Activity for Spring 2020

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Department of Athletics, in accordance with the Skyline Conference, announced on Friday that it has canceled all athletic activities for the spring 2020 season as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

All previously scheduled matches and competitions have been canceled and will not be rescheduled. St. Joseph's College does not have any cases of COVID-19 and is taking these measures out of an abundance of caution for our College community.

On Monday, the Department of Athletics announced its softball and baseball teams were canceling their spring trips scheduled for this week and next. A host of other games were postponed on Wednesday before the department announced on Thursday that all matches through March 29 were suspended.

The NCAA on Friday announced plans for approving blanket waivers for seasons of eligibility and sport sponsorship. More details on that will be released in the coming months.
