Conference-Best 106 Golden Eagles Land on Skyline Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll

New York, NY| A total of 106 St. Joseph's College (L.I.) student-athletes were named to the Skyline Conference's 2019-20 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, as announced by Commissioner Linda Bruno on Friday morning. Of the 12 member institutions, St. Joseph's had the conference's highest number of honorees; 25 more than second-place Manhattanville.

The Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.3-grade point average while competing in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track & field, men's volleyball, women's swimming, men's tennis, softball, and baseball during the fall and winter semesters of the 2019-20 academic year. In total, 723 student-athletes were honored throughout the conference.

All 11 Skyline-sponsored SJC winter and spring sports programs received selections with baseball garnering a department-best 15. Softball (12) and women's lacrosse (11) rounded out the top three. 

"Congratulations to all our student-athletes for their success in the classroom," commented Bruno. "A large amount of credit is due this year, especially, given how the student-athletes were able to adjust on the fly to the virtual classroom environment during the on-going public health emergency. The Conference is proud of how these young men and women continue to epitomize the values listed in the NCAA Division III Philosophy Statement."
