Men’s Tennis Tops SJC-Brooklyn for Skyline Victory

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team picked up a 5-2 home victory over St. Joseph's College (Brkln) in a Skyline Conference affair at the Outdoor Field Complex on Tuesday evening.

The win brings the Golden Eagles to 2-6 overall on the year and 2-4 in conference play as the Bears slip to 1-8 (0-7).

Due to subpar weather conditions, the singles matches were played before the doubles slate. Kyle Conway picked up the match's first victory, an 8-0 decision at fourth singles, and Ryan Freeley followed suit with a win by the same scoreline shortly after.

Dylan Trude was the next to pick up a shutout victory at sixth singles, and Damian Duda put SJC ahead 4-0 in the match with an 8-5 win at fifth singles.

Despite dropping first and second singles, SJC clinched victory with a fifth point following Freeley and Conway's 8-0 win at second doubles.

With weather conditions growing worse, the match was called 5-2 in favor of the hosts.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, April 19 when they host Farmingdale State for their Skyline regular-season finale at 5:30 pm.
