Women's Basketball Suffers Loss on Senior Night

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's basketball team dropped a 68-53 decision in the final home game of the 2019-20 season on Tuesday evening.

The loss moves the Golden Eagles to 8-16 on the year with a 6-13 conference mark. The Rams improve to 10-13 overall, 8-11 Skyline.

Sophomore Alyssa Signor finished with 14 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Megan Steinman came off the bench also providing 14 points.

Freshmen Alyssa Adomaites and Catherine Siounis added eight points apiece with senior Juliana Cintron-Leonardo grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds.

Nia Miller recorded a game-best 18 points and seven assists. Anna Zaborowska and Jami Cardenas pitched in with 15 points each.

Farmingdale led wire-to-wire limiting the Golden Eagles to just seven points in the opening quarter. A nine-point second quarter from Steinman led SJC an 18-15 advantage in the frame to send SJC into the half trailing 37-25.

After the Rams took its largest lead of the evening, 49-28, with just over three minutes left in the third, the Golden Eagles closed out the quarter on a 12-4 run closing the gap to 54-40.

St. Joseph's fourth-quarter push fell short and the Rams came away with the 68-53 win.

Farmingdale shot 42.9% from the field while holding the hosts to 30.6%.

The Golden Eagles close out the season on Saturday, February 22 when they travel to Yeshiva University. Game time is slated for 8:00 pm.
