Patchogue, NY| In his inaugural season, head coach Rafael Morais leads the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team into the 2017 season which opens on September 1 at New York University at 1:00 PM.

After falling to Sage in the first round of the Skyline Conference Championship last season, the Golden Eagles graduated just three seniors: Katie Condron, Rebecca Voisich, and Nicholle Santulli.

This season, newly-appointed Morais will lean on Skyline All-Conference Second-Team honoree Christina Gagliardi, who led the team in points (19) with a team-leading eight goals and three assists as a freshman.

Other key returners include sophomore winger Mackenzie Nyitray, who was second on the team in goals (3) assists (2) and points (8), and holding midfielder Shannon Condron who contributed two goals and two assists last year.

Highlighting the newcomers are Leah Vasquez (Jr., M) and Luciana Timpone (Jr., D) who both arrive from Suffolk County Community College. The pair are joined by Carly Credidio, whose speed and work rate are strong additions to a team that saw three of its key starters depart.

On August 29, the Skyline Conference released the results of its Preseason Coaches Poll, which saw the Golden Eagles finish fourth out of 10 teams.
