Patchogue, NY| In his first season at the helm of the program, head coach Chris Brandenberger inherits a St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team that returns seven letter winners ahead of the 2017-18 season.
A year ago, the team placed fifth out of nine teams at the Skyline Conference Championships, and this season, Brandenberger expects a similar result.
"At the end of the season our goal is to finish in the top tier of the conference," he said. "We will have great relays and outstanding individual performances and that will hopefully help us achieve our goal."

Among the returning swimmers are senior Marissa Palmeri and sophomores Samantha Mullman and Aileen Baker, all of whom scored points at the 2017 conference championships.
Mullman, the team's top sprinter, and Baker, a backstroker, were both members of 200 and 400 yard freestyle relays that broke school records last season.

Two recruits join the SJC ranks for the 2017-18 season—freshmen Isabelle Peralta and Jordyn Cummings. Brandenberger expects Peralta to jump right in and help on the relays and for Cummings to contribute in the breaststroke and IM events.
