#3 Eagles to Face #2 Rams in Skyline Semifinals

Patchogue, N.Y. – After defeating the Sage Gators, 5-4, on October 20, the St. Joseph's College women's tennis team secured the third seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference Tournament. The Lady Eagles finished 4-2 in the conference with losses coming against the first-seeded Knights of Mount Saint Mary and the second-seeded Farmingdale St. Rams.  The women drew the Rams for their opening round match, which will take place at Farmingdale on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

This is the outlook for the upcoming tournament:

Semifinal Rounds - Wednesday, Oct. 24
#4 Purchase at #1 MSMC
#3 SJC at #2 Farmingdale State

Championship - Saturday, Oct. 27
At highest remaining seed

St. Joseph's match versus Farmingdale earlier in the season came down to the wire, but ended with a Rams 5-4 victory. The Eagles lost two of the three doubles matches and split in the singles competition three-to-three. With a victory, the Golden Eagles will reach the Skyline Championship for the second straight year. They lost to Mount Saint Mary in the finals last season, 5-2.

The Skyline champion will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
