Linbrunner Breaks 200-Meter Record at Roadrunner Invitational on Saturday

Mahwah, NJ| The St. Joseph's College (L.I) men's and women's track and field team traveled to Ramapo College this past weekend for the Roadrunner Invitational which was held on Friday and Saturday.

The women placed 11 (30 pts.) in a field of 28 teams, while the men (12 pts.) finished in 18th out of 21.

In the pouring rain on Friday night, Erin MacDonell tallied the first eight points for the Golden Eagles in the 10,000-meter run finishing just behind Adelphi's Nicole Julian for a second-place time of 41:27.88.

Later in the evening, Jessica Pierno competed in the shot put and broke the program launching the shot at a 10.27-meter distance, which was good enough for second place.

On Saturday, in the 100-meter hurdles, Madelyn Kowalevich tacked on six points with a fourth-place 17.59 finish, while Mikayla Kowalevich came in seventh with an 18.41 time.

After coming in second (13.06) in her heat, Ashley Arquer came in seventh in the 100-meter dash with a 13.26 time. Briana Shand competed in the 200-meter dash crossing the line in fifth with her 27.31 time.

For the men, Nick DeLuca competed in the 10,000-meter run and completed the run with a 37:19.31 time which earned him an eighth-place finish.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Brian Frejka (10.8), Mike O'Shea (11.5), Brandon Linbrunner (11.5), and Anthony Figorito (11.3) raced to a seventh-place 45.24 time.

Later, Linbrunner competed in the 100 meter dashed clinching five points in his 11.41 sixth-place time. The East Patchogue, NY native would break the program record in the 200 meter dash with a 22.91 time, which was good enough for seventh place.

In the final event of the meet, the 4x400 meter team of Frejka, Linbrunner, Antonawich, and Figorito placed seventh finishing with a 3:34.91 time.

The Golden Eagles travels to Stockton University for the Osprey Open starting Friday, April 14 at 9:30 AM.
