Urizzo and Senecal Land on Skyline Women’s Volleyball All-Conference Teams

Skyline Release

Written by Andrew Capitelli (SJC-LI Sports Information)

New York, NY| Senior Claire Urizzo and junior Danielle Senecal of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball team were included on Skyline All-Conference teams upon their release on the conference's website on Monday morning.

Urizzo earned a First-Team selection after finishing second on the team in several statistical categories including total kills (198), kills-per-set (2.15), total digs (256) and digs-per-set (2.78). Additionally, the outside hitter finished third in service aces (32) and total blocks (27) and was tied for first in total points-per-set (2.7).

A Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll honoree on October 23, Urizzo was one of six players to appear in all 29 matches for SJC this season.

Senecal appears on the Second-Team for the second-straight season after leading the conference in digs-per-set (4.92).  The libero's 450 total digs in 2017 were the fourth-highest single-season total in St. Joseph's history and brings her two-year career total to 848—good for fourth all-time on the career record list.

The Golden Eagles—who reached the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Championship for the seventh-straight season—saw their 2017 campaign come to an end on Thursday evening with a 3-0 defeat to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
