Men's Golf Finishes Third at St. Joseph's Invitational

Bellport, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's golf team turned in a third place finish in a field of six competing teams at the St. Joseph's Invitational at Bellport Golf Club on Friday afternoon.

As hosts, the Golden Eagles posted a team score of 354, which was 70 stokes over par and 27 strokes off first-place Farmingdale State. Mount St. Mary took second with a score of 340 (+56).

Leading the way for SJC was senior Joseph Tantillo, who shot an 84 (+13) and finished tied for sixth place. Junior Patrick Diecidue finished tied for 12th place with an 86 (+15).

Sophomore Ryan Kayton and freshman Gavin Melandro tied for 18th place with scores of 92 (+21), and junior Jonathan Eckert scored a 100 (+29) and tied for 23. Sophomore Conor Conzone shot a 103 (+32).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Sunday, April 25 when they compete at the two-day Skyline Conference Championship at Bethpage Red.
