Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's lacrosse team was handed a 19-7 defeat by Stockton University in a Skyline Conference contest played at Danzi Stadium on Friday evening.

With the loss the Golden Eagles slide to 3-2 (0-1 Skyline) on the year as the Ospreys improve to 7-1 (1-0 Skyline).

Stockton opened the scoring 32 seconds into the game when Brandon Nunez beat SJC keeper Andrew Yoli for his 15th goal of the season. St. Joseph's tied the game at one at 10:34 with Hickey's 13th of the year, but Stockton compiled a 6-0 run to take a commanding 7-1 lead at 13:23 of the second quarter.

Hickey's second of the evening ended SJC's skid (7-2) less than three minutes later, but a second 6-0 run by the guests extended the Golden Eagles' deficit to 11 goals (13-2) at the half.

Stockton tallied the only two goals in the third quarter off the sticks of Jamar Hall (9:46) and Mike Caposella (:56) to increase their lead to 13 goals (15-2), and Tommy Gallo's mark 2:37 into the fourth made it a 14-goal game (16-2).

Josh Shaw's sixth of the year got one back for the Golden Eagles with 8:53 to play in regulation, but it was answered by two Stockton goals at 6:53 and 6:43 (18-13).

SJC would score four of the game's final five goals off the sticks of Jack Murray (2) and Shaw (2) before succumbing to the 19-7 defeat.

St. Joseph's, outshot 59-32, was edged in faceoffs (17-11) and ground balls (41-23).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, March 25 when they travel to Newburgh, NY to face Mount St. Mary College for a Skyline Conference contest at 12:00pm. Follow along with live stats here.
