Farmingdale, NY| Jack Murrary, Scott Reece and Josh Shaw tallied three goals apiece as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's lacrosse team snapped its three-game losing streak with a 14-11 road victory over Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon.

With the win the Golden Eagles improve to 4-4 on the year (1-3 Skyline) and register the program's first ever conference victory as the Rams slide to 9-2 (3-1).

In addition to his three goals, Shaw also dished out two assists and was credited with a game-high 10 shots. Declan Canevari won 21 of 28 faceoffs and scooped up a game-best 12 ground balls, and keeper Andrew Yoli made five saves on 16 shots.

Farmingdale's Jake Borresen opened the scoring 1:19 into regulation but the Golden Eagles responded with seven unanswered first-quarter goals to take a commanding 7-1 lead into the second.

The Rams got two back early in the second frame before going goal-for-goal with SJC into the break as the Golden Eagles held a four-goal lead (9-5) at halftime.

Four goals split two apiece in the third allowed the guests to maintain their four-goal advantage (11-7), but three-straight tallies by the Rams in the opening 3:31 of the fourth quarter saw the hosts cut their deficit to one goal (11-10).

Consecutive goals by Murray (7:12) and Chris Neilsen (5:18) ended the Golden Eagles' skid and saw them go back up three goals (13-10). Farmingdale got one back with 2:25 remaining in regulation, but it was Casey Hickey's tally 25 seconds later that wrapped the afternoon's scoring as SJC earned the 14-11 victory.

Despite turning the ball over more (22-14) and being outshot (41-35), St. Joseph's collected more ground balls (42-35) and dominated faceoffs (21-7) en route to defeating a Farmingdale team that entered the game atop the Skyline Conference standings.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, April 4 when they host eight-time defending Skyline Conference champion Montclair State at 7:00 pm. Live video and stats for the contest will be available here.
