Men’s Tennis Ends Season with 8-1 Win Over York

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team wrapped its 2016 season with an 8-1 victory over York College at home on Saturday afternoon to finish the year with a 3-9 (2-5) mark.

The third doubles duo of Kelley McGrath and Victoria Panicola opened the match with ab 8-0 win, which was followed by 8-1 victories from the SJC second (Matt Gilley and Philip Branigan) and first (Peter Rasmussen and Matt Dioguardo) doubles tandems.

After Dioguardo took his second singles fixture, Wilfido Vasquez clinched the team victory for the Golden Eagles with a sixth singles win in straight sets (6-0, 6-0).

Rasmussen (6-1, 6-0), McGrath (6-1, 6-2) and Branigan earned wins at first, fourth and fifth singles, respectively.
