Patchogue, NY| The No. 2 seeded St. Joseph's College women's lacrosse team had a late comeback fall just short in the 12-11 Skyline Conference semifinal loss to the No. 3 seeded United States Merchant Marine Academy at Danzi Stadium on Wednesday night.

USMMA scored first in the second frame, but the SJC went on a 4-1 run to get back within one, 10-9 before Gennardo took the ensuing draw and ran it downfield tying the game at 10 with less than eight minutes on the clock. USMMA's Jenna Turrentine went back-to-back putting the visitors up 12-10 with less than a minute remaining. Gennardo once again scored off the draw making it a one-goal game, but the Mariners were able to maintain possession for the final 36 seconds and secure the 12-11 win, and advance to the Skyline Conference finals.
