Erin MacDonell Selected as ECAC Metro Rookie of the Week

Danbury, Conn.| Erin MacDonell of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team was selected as ECAC Division III Metro Region Rookie of the Week on Wednesday evening, as per the conference's website.

MacDonell was the second-highest finishing first-year runner at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational on Saturday morning, when she claimed ninth place in a 5k field of 154 runners. The Sayville, NY native's 21:39.2 time helped power the Golden Eagles to a first-place overall finish in the race.

In addition to her ECAC accolades, MacDonell earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season on Monday evening.

Both the women's and men's cross country team return to action on Sunday, October 11 when they participate in the CCNY Classic held at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx.
