New York, NY| Junior Andy Laurent of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team collected two weekly honors for his performance last week, having been named Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week—along with the College of Mount Saint Vincent's Ammad Alkhlaidi—while also appearing on the Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II-III Honorable Mention late Monday evening.

The Skyline Conference's leading scorer (23.9 points-per-game) tallied a game-high 32 points on 11-16 shooting from the field and added five rebounds, four steals and three assists in the Golden Eagles' 84-71 victory over Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday, December 2.

For Laurent, this is the first regional honor of his career and second Skyline Player of the Week nod of the season. The Amityville, NY native last received the honor on November 16.

In addition to Laurent's recognition, sophomore Andrea Iavarone of the SJC women's basketball team appeared on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season. The forward went for game-highs with 23 points and 20 rebounds to record her fifth double-double of the season in a 61-58 loss to John Jay College on Wednesday, December 2.

Both the men's and women's basketball teams return to action on Tuesday, December 8 when they host St. Joseph's College (Brkln) for a doubleheader at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM inside the Danzi Center. Live stats available at sjcgoldeneagles.com.
