Written by Andrew Capitelli (SJC-LI Sports Information)

New York, NY| Junior guard Andy Laurent of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team was named to the Skyline All-Conference First-Team on Friday morning, according to the conference's website. Laurent, who became the 13th player in program history to score 1,000 career points on January 7, finished the season fifth in the conference in scoring (17.4 PPG).

A Second-Team selection in 2014-15, Laurent also finished among Skyline leaders in minutes-per-game (37.3, 2nd), assists-per-game (4.5, 3rd), assists-to-turnover ratio (1.1, 6th), steals-per-game (1.3, 10th) and rebounds-per-game (6.8, 12th).

The Amityville, NY native's First-Team selection comes at the conclusion of a campaign that saw him earn three Skyline Player of the Week honors (Co- on 12/7 and 1/11) and a Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Divisions II-III Weekly Honorable Mention nod on December 8.

Laurent, who tallied a career-high 41 points (14-23 FG) in a double-overtime loss to Medgar Evers on November 22, recorded 30+ points in two games this season, 20+ points in 10 games and 15+ points in 15 games. The guard also registered two double-doubles on the season and finishes the year eighth in the nation in minutes-per-game.
