With just over five minutes of action into the first half, the game was tied at 11 until a Ryan McNeely free throw pulled SJLI ahead by one, and just minutes later, a Tabada steal and score brought the lead to three

Braunstein found space from beyond the arc to sink a three to pull SIT ahead by one, but Terrin Roy would respond with a three of his own to give St. Joseph's the lead again by two with just over nine minutes remaining in the half

The Ducks would go on a 17-4 run over the next five minutes of play that was capped off by a three from Kyle Madison

A Kenny Rodriguez jumper would pull the Golden Eagles to within six with just three minutes to play, but again, Steven's responded with a 10-2 run to end the half, taking a 48-34 lead

As the Golden Eagles looked to cut the lead, McNeely came off the bench early in the second half, providing five quick points on a layup and a three-pointer

A steal from Thomas Bell led to a quick outlet pass to Allen, who drove it to the basket for the tough finish at the rim
