Cristobal Wins 800m Title at CTC Championships

Center Valley, Pa. - The St. Joseph's College men's and women's track & field team turned in record performances at the CTC Outdoor Championships hosted by DeSales University and crowned one conference champion.

Women
The women crowned their first outdoor champion in program history. Junior Christine Cristobal (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills West) captured the 800m title with a school record time of 2:23.18. She scored 10 points for the women's team.

Men
Junior Michael Lombardi (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) competed in three events and contributed 8.5 points for the men. Lombardi first ran the 10,000m on Saturday night and tied for fifth overall with a school record time of 35:27.65. On Sunday, he competed in the 3000m steeplechase taking seventh overall with a personal best and school record time of 10:29.94.

Lombardi was joined by fellow classmate Jonathan Afanador (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) and freshmen Kevin Sanders (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) and Robert Johnson (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) in the 3200-meter relay taking sixth overall with a school record time of 8:37.97.

Senior Michael Hartman (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd) took seventh in the 400m with a time of 53.80 contributing two points for the men. Earlier in the day Hartman ran a personal best time of 24.60 in the 200m.

The Golden Eagles will return to action at the Lion's Invitational hosted by TCNJ on Saturday, April 28.
