Men's Volleyball Extends Win Streak to Eight with Wins Over Ramapo and SLC

Mahwah, NJ| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team remained unbeaten in Skyline Conference action with a pair of wins over Ramapo College and Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improve to 20-3 on the season, 10-0 in conference play.

SJC 3, Ramapo 0

St. Joseph's opened with a 25-20 win behind their match-best .385 hitting percentage as a team. SJC needed extra points to take down the Roadrunners (11-10, 7-2 Skyline) in set two 26-24 before completing the sweep with a 25-18 win in the third set.

Mark Jensen knocked down a match-best 15 kills while collecting a team-high 12 digs. Paul Curaro also finished in double figures with 11 kills and served two aces. Mark Williams and Quinn Foglia pitched in with seven kills apiece with the latter finishing with four blocks.

Setter Clint Johnson tossed a match-best 38 assists with libero Jason Siriban picking up eight digs.

Ramapo was led by Andrew Finnegan with 11 kills and added six digs with Jason van der Wilt adding ten kills. Setter Josh Titus recorded 30 assists and libero Tyler Pitt collected a match-high 17 digs.

SJC 3, SLC 0

In their second match of the day, the Golden Eagles made quick work of the Gryphons (7-10, 5-3 Skyline) claiming 25-8, 25-11, and 25-7 wins in straight sets.

Williams and Foglia both finished with a match-best seven kills with Williams recording a match-high 10 digs. Curaro added six kills with four aces.

Setters Michael Lane and Johnson dished 16 and 12 assists, respectively, and Siriban picked up six digs.

Five Gryphons recorded a kill with setter Claire Mitchel tossing four assists. Nate Davis picked up a team-best eight digs.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center on Tuesday, March 29 when they host  Ramapo College at 7:00 pm.
