Johnson & Cristobal Lead Team at NJAC Championships

Galloway, N.J. - The St. Joseph's College men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the 2012 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Outdoor Championships at Richard Stockton College each finishing in ninth place.

Women
Leading the way for the women was junior Christine Cristobal (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills West) who took fourth with a time of 2:20.91 in the 800m and scoring five team points.

Caitlyn Ryan- 1500m- 5:26.61 (Season Best & Top 5 All-Time List)

Men
Leading the way for the men was freshman Robert Johnson (Mastic Beach, N.Y./Williams Floyd) who broke the school record in the 1500m, clocking 4:08.58.  Johnson was the first freshman to finish, taking sixth overall and contributing three points for the men.

Later, Johnson was joined by classmates Kevin Sanders (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River), Skylar Ellison (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and junior Jonathan Afanador (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) in the 1600-meter relay taking eighth overall with a school record time of 3:35.88 and scoring one point for the team.

Paul Milazzo- 1500m- 4:22.65 (Season Best and Top 5 All-Time List))
Richard Schimmel- 1500m- 4:42.06 (Season Best)

The NJAC championships wrap up the season for head coach David Oroza and the Golden Eagles with record breaking performances.
