Women's Volleyball Takes Down Farmingdale, 3-1

The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team captured their fourth conference victory of the season with, 3-1 win over Farmingdale on Wednesday evening.

Top Performers
  • Senior Madison Gremli recorded a game-high 18 kills, to go along with eight digs, one block assist, and one service ace

  • Junior Jackie Wolf added 13 kills, 11 digs and one assist

  • Senior Katie D'Angelo led the Golden Eagles with a game-high 34 assists, while tallying 13 digs and one service ace

  • Junior Sarah Montefusco had a game-high 16 digs to go along with two assists 

  • Mikayla Profeta and Kalena Ricketts of the Rams contributed 13 and 12 kills, respectively 

How it happened
  • The Golden Eagles started the first set strong pulling ahead by as much as seven, 15-8, until the Rams cut the deficit to just four, 20-16, but SJLI was able to rally again to claim set one 25-18

  • The second set was tied at 16 apiece before Farmingdale went on a 6-1 scoring run. St. Joseph's responded with a run of their own to bring the score within one, but ultemately FSC claimed the set 25-22

  • SJLI pulled ahead early in the third set building a 13-4 lead, as FSC committed 10 errors in the entire set to secure the victory for the Golden Eagles

  • A closely contested fourth set, saw a tie at 12 as St. Joseph's pulled away late to capture the fourth set and the match
