On Tuesday evening, the St. Joseph's University (L.I.) men's basketball team earned an 85-60 non-conference win over Lehman College in their home opener at the Danzi Center.
Top performers:

Juniors Xavier Allen and Alec Tabada each scored a game-high 26 points to pace the Golden Eagles, with Allen recording 14 rebounds for a double-double while Tabada added eight boards

St. Joseph's scored eight of the first 10 points to begin the game, then held a lead of seven (10-3) five minutes in on an Allen layup

An 8-2 run for Lehman College trimmed the hosts' lead to one (12-11), then the Golden Eagles responded with a 12-2 run fueled by Tabada's six points to go ahead 24-13

Allen proceeded to score nine straight points for SJLI, with the hosts leading by 11 (29-18) on his final basket of the run with 7:48 remaining in the half
