Malloy started the game in a rhythm as he provided the Golden Eagles with nine of their first 15 points, hitting a free throw seven minutes into action to pull ahead by one, 15-14

As John Jay rallied, scoring a quick eight points, it was Tabada who dropped in six straight for SJLI to keep the game within one

St. Joseph's would go on a 17-10 run in the final minutes of the half to secure a two-point lead, 38-36

Early on in the second half again, both teams would exchange points, but a Tabada three off the pass from Malloy pulled SJLI ahead by five
