Allen and Monti Headline Skyline Weekly Awards

New York, NY| Junior Xavier Allen of the St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's basketball team and freshman AvaGrace Monti of the women's swim team received top honors when the conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday morning.

Additionally, sophomore Megan Spina of the women's basketball team was selected to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Xavier Allen (Jr.) - Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Allen led the Golden Eagles on the week in scoring 77 total points across three games, averaging 25.7 points per game, shooting 29-68 from the field and 7-16 from three-point range. He recorded 40 rebounds, averaging 13.3 rebounds per game. The junior also collected six steals, six assists, and three blocks. The Mattituck, NY native matched a game-high 26 points to go along with 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks in a win against Lehman on 11/14. Allen again finished with a game-high 20 points, adding nine rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block against St. Lawrence on 11/17. Finally, the guard scored a game-high 31 points and grabbed 17 rebounds en route to posting one assist and one steal against Worcester St. on 11/18.

AvaGrace Monti (Fr.) - Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week 

Monti finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.90) and broke a program record... Secured another first-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.22). The freshman was a part of the relay team that added a second-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay (4:32.37) all against USMMA on Friday evening. Monti led the Golden Eagles to a narrow victory over Hunter, again breaking two more program records in the 400-yard individual medley (5:10.68) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.88). The Farmingville, NY native took part on the relay team that secured a Golden Eagles first-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay (4:38.03)

Megan Spina (So.) - Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Led the Golden Eagles on the week with 38 total points, averaging 19.0 ppg on 14-for-25 shooting for 56.0%. The sophomore added nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals. The Selden, NY native dropped in 11 points with four rebounds against Emmanuel College before recording a career-high 27 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the field and 3-for-4 from long distance while adding five boards and four assists in a win over FDU-Florham.
