Ford, Monti, and Williams Headline Skyline Weekly Awards

New York, NY| Senior Lanyah Ford of the St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) women's basketball team, sophomore Ashlyn Williams, and freshman AvaGrace Monti of the women's swim team received top honors when the conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday morning.

Additionally, junior Xavier Allen of the men's basketball team was selected to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Lanyah Ford (Sr.) - Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Ford led the Golden Eagles in a 2-0 week with 40 points averaging 20 points per game and shooting 53.1% from the field. The senior added six rebounds, four steals, and three assists. She dropped in a game-high 21 points with three boards, two assists and two steals in SJLI's Skyline opening win over Yeshiva before turning in a game-best 19 points with three rebounds, two steals, and an assist against Old Westbury.

Ashlyn Williams (So.) - Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week

Williams led the Golden Eagles to a win over Purchase and a tie with Mt. St. Mary with a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (0:26.99). She posted a first-place position in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.33) and secured first-place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.22).

AvaGrace Monti (Fr.) - Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week

Monti helped guide the Golden Eagles in a lone meet on the week with a first-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.57). The freshman took second-place in the 100-yard freestyle (0:59.93) and finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.92).

Xavier Allen (Jr.) - Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Allen scored 12 points in the lone game of the week for the Golden Eagles. The guard matched a team-high five rebounds with two steals, one assist, and one block.
