Women's Tennis Moves to 5-0 with Win over Yeshiva

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team extended its undefeated season on Tuesday evening with an 8-1 win over Yeshiva University at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex.

The Golden Eagles' fifth win of the season gaurentees they enter the final weekend of the season in first place with a chance to clinch the top seed in the Skyline Conference Championship with a win vs. Mount St. Mary on Sunday.  

The hosts completed a three-match sweep in the doubles portion of the match. The doubles highlight was Trinity Behlen and Haley Celeona's 8-0 win at third doubles.

Jessica Jones and Mackenzie Martocci won 8-2 at first singles and Erin Hickey and Joan Dabalsy were 8-6 victors at second doubles.

Hickey would go on to post a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles and Jones won 6-1, 6-4 at fist singles. Celona (6-1, 2-6, 6-3), Martocci (6-3, 6-4), and Behlen (6-2, 6-1) won at second, third, and sixth singles, respectively.

Sunday's (May 2) match vs. Mount St. Mary will take place at the Outdoor Field Complex at 1:00 pm. A limited amount of spectators will be allowed on site. More information available here.
