Men's Golf Finishes in Fifth at Farmingdale St. Invitational

Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's (L.I.) College men's golf team finished in fifth place in the final round of the Skyline Conference qualifier at the Farmingdale St. Invitational, held at Bethpage State Park, the Red Course, on Friday morning.

The Golden Eagles shot a total of 351 (+71) placing them in fifth place in the six-team field.

Farmingdale State posted a 290 (+10) and was 36 strokes ahead of Mount St. Mary College who posted a 326 (+46), which was good enough for second place.

Patrick Standard led the team with a final score of 77 (+7), for a seventh-place finish. Vinny Garofalo finished behind Standard, in eighth place, with a 79 (+9) on the day. Joe Tantillo rounded out the top ten for SJC, with a ninth-place score of 81 (+11).

Newcomers Josh Outsen and Peter Curaro finished the day placing a 27th and 28th place finish with scores of 114 and 131 respectively.

The Golden Eagles now gear up for the Skyline Conference Championship hosted by Farmingdale St. on Sunday and Monday, October, 22 and 23.
