Farmingdale Too Much For Women's Basketball

Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team suffered a 78-42 defeat to Skyline Conference opponent Farmingdale State College on the road Wednesday evening.

The loss moves the Golden Eagles to 3-19 on the season and 2-13 in Skyline play as the Rams improve to 7-15, 7-8 Skyline.

Alyssa Signor scored a team-best 20 points. The freshman shot 3-for-8 from three, grabbed five rebounds.

Senior Alicia Indence and junior Juliana Cintron-Leonardo provided seven points apiece. Senior N'Dea Maddox dished out a team-high 10 assists and seven boards.

Farmingdale's Destiny Hurt shot 8-for-19 from the field for a game-best 21 points and Selena Lafranca provided 17 points.

The Rams got a pair of double-doubles from Nia Miller who went for 10 points and 11 assists and Alexis Hunter knocked down10 points and 31 rebounds.

SJC trailed 37-15 at halftime and 61-25 at the end of the third quarter but matched the Rams 17-17 in the fourth quarter before succumbing to a 78-42 defeat.

The hosts outshot SJC from the field (39.5% to 25.8%), as well as outrebounding the Golden Eagles 60-40.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, February 9 when they visit Purchase College for a Skyline Conference contest. Game time is set for 12:00 pm.
