Women’s Swimming Eases Past Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team earned an impressive 97-35 victory over the College of Mount St. Vincent in a Skyline Conference meet indie the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

In a meet that saw the Golden Eagles earn nine first-place finishes through a total of 11 events, SJC opened with a win in the 200 yard medley relay as Lorraine Diehl, Marissa Palmeri, Catherine Peralta and Julie Garvey posted a time of 2:19.50.

Kim Mazza collected a pair of first-place finishes in both the 200 yard freestyle (2:13.62) and the 500 yard freestyle (6:05.44).

Other first-place finishes came from Gabrielle Zollo in the 50 yard freestyle (28:36), Samantha Mullman in the 100 yard freestyle (59.15) and Marissa Palmeri in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:29.28).

In the meet's final event, the 200 freestyle team of Mazza, Zollo, Mullman and Aileen Baker posted a program-best time of 1:50.46 and finished nearly 30 seconds before CMSV's foursome.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, January 10 when they hit the road to face Hunter College in New York, NY at 6:00 PM. Full meet recap here at sjcgodleneagles.com following the action.
