Women's Swimming Recognized as Spring CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

Norfolk, VA| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.)  women's swimming team was selected as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2017 semester, it was announced early Wednesday morning.

The Golden Eagles, who earn the honor for the second-straight spring--boasted a 3.33 GPA and were joined by Skyline Conference rivals Sarah Lawrence and USMMA in the field of 173 Division III programs honored to be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team.

CSCAA Executive Director Joel Shinofield cited St. Joseph's success, noting:  "Coach Stephanie Palmeri has done an exceptional job building a top program in the pool and the classroom at St. Joseph's Long Island ."  He added, "We are very fortunate to have schools like St. Joseph's Long Island and people like President Calareso and Director of Athletics Hill who support these exceptional student-athletes."

A total of 720 collegiate swimming and diving teams earned the honor--which is awarded to programs that earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the specified semester--in Spring 2017.

St. Joseph's wrapped up its 2016-17 season with a fifth-place finish at the Skyline Conference Championships.
