Women's Volleyball Goes 2-0 in Skyline Tri-Match

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team took home a pair of Skyline Conference wins on the road Sunday afternoon. The Golden Eagles earn a 3-0 sweep over Yeshiva University before a 3-1 victory over the College of Mt. St. Vincent.

 SJC 3, Yeshiva 0

The Golden Eagles (18-10, 6-1 Skyline) made quick work of the Maccabees (1-11, 0-6 Skyline) with 25-6, 25-10 and 25-5 wins in straight sets.

Sophomore Jessica Young led SJC with eight kills while hitting at a .667 clip. Freshman Gillian Donaghy pitched in with seven kills and a .700 hitting percentage. Setter Brionna Silva dished 15 assists and recorded a season-high eight service aces. Libero Danielle Senecal finished with a match-high five digs.

Shayna Herszage led Yeshiva with two kills with Abigail Epstein finishing with four digs.

SJC 3, CMSV 1

After dropping the first set to the Dolphins (8-15, 5-4 Skyline) 25-15, the Golden Eagles bounced back to take the match with 25-21, 25-19, and 25-22 wins.

Sophomore Kaitlin Williams finished with a match-high 13 kills and had a hand in six blocks. Seniors Amanda Rose and Kristen Bohnenblusch added eight kills apiece and combined for 20 digs. Silva had a double-double with 27 assists and 12 digs. Senecal recorded a team-high 15 digs.

Tara Maloney led the Dolphins with nine kills while providing 13 digs. Setter Madison Gale recorded 14 assists with Alexandra Rio scooping a match-high 17 digs.

The Golden Eagles wrap the 2018 regular season on Saturday, October 27 when they face Sarah Lawrence College (1:00 pm) and Mt. St. Mary 3:00 pm).
