Men’s Basketball Selected Third in Skyline Preseason Poll

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team finished third in the Skyline Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, which was released on the conference website on Tuesday morning.

After a season in which head coach Kevin Spann led the Golden Eagles to the Skyline Conference Championship in his first year at the helm, the former LIU Post standout leads a side that returns seven players, including All-Skyline Second-Team selections Andy Laurent and Fernando Vazquez.

Sage, the defending conference champion, was chosen to finish first, collecting 97 points and eight first-place votes. Old Westbury slotted in at #2 with 82 points and one first place vote. The Golden Eagles were the only other team to receive a first-place vote (1), but trailed the Panthers with 74 points in third.

St. Joseph's kicks off its season on Friday, November 13, when they travel to Queens, NY to face York College at 7:00 PM. The Golden Eagles open their Skyline Conference campaign on the road against Old Westbury on Tuesday, November 24. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
