Riverdale, NY| Junior Chris Nielsen scored five goals and added two helpers as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's lacrosse team stormed to a 13-3 victory over the College of Mount St. Vincent on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the Golden Eagles snap a six-game losing streak and improve to 4-7 overall on the year (1-2 Skyline). The Dolphins drop to 2-9 on the year and 0-3 in Skyline play.

Nielsen scored five times on 10 shots and assisted on tallies by freshman Tim McCann and sophomore James Elgort.

Junior Tom Ekstrom scooped up a game-best nine ground balls and senior Christian Prate caused a game-high five turnovers.

Freshman keeper Andrew Brust faced six shots and made three saves.

Nielsen capped the scoring in the second half and ensured the Golden Eagles went into the break ahead 7-2.

Six tallies in the third expanded the SJC advantage to 13-2 before Mt. St. Vincent wrapped the afternoon's scoring with 42 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter (13-3).

St. Joseph's was dominant on faceoffs, winning 18 of 20. Junior Declan Canevari won eight of nine and Ekstrom was successful in all but one of his 11 draws.

The guests outshot the Dolphins by a wide 45-shot margian (53-8) and scooped up 50 ground balls to CMSV's 20.
