Men's Tennis Eliminated in Skyline First Round

The sixth-seeded St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's tennis was eliminated in the Skyline Conference Championships opening round with a 5-0 loss to No. 3 Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening.

How it happened
  • SJLI's Ryan Freeley and Vincent Engel were edged 8-6  by Kobi Ciment and Yoni Mayer in No. 1 doubles. The Maccabees went on to sweep doubles play with 8-2, 8-0 wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 flights, respectively

  • Cory Stengel fell just short to Eitan Jeselsohn 6-4 in the No. 2 singles first set before a 6-1 Jeselsohn victory clinched the match

  • Israel Bussu took down Engel 6-0, 6-1 in No. 4 singles to secure the win for the Maccabees
