Lady Eagles Float Past Maritime with Easy 6-0 victory

Patchogue, N.Y. — The Lady Golden Eagles (13-5-1, 6-2 SKY) were victorious in their match against the Maritime Privateers (10-10, 2-6 SKY) on Saturday, logging an impressive final score of 6-0.  The day also served as the team's senior day, in which they honored their four senior captains: Jaclyn Baratelli (Hauppauge, N.Y./ Hauppauge), Elizabeth Pulaski (North Babylon, N.Y./ St. John the Baptist), Ashley George (Bay Shore, N.Y./ Islip) and Samantha Garcia (Central Islip, N.Y./ St. John the Baptist).

The Eagles certainly made their seniors proud, positively conquering the first half and maintaining possession of the ball for the entirety of the second.

Jennifer Martino (East Patchogue, N.Y./ Bellport) kicked off the scoring for the day with an expert shot only 12 minutes into the game. Jessica Cordano (Oakdale, N.Y./ Connetquot) rocketed a shot right past the goalie at 18:00 after a breakaway, putting the Eagles up by two early on in the match.

Martino scored again at 24:14 followed shortly after by Jamieanne Eden (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./ Connetquot) who challenged a Privateer defender and won. Katelyn Chiasera (Smithtown, N.Y./ Hauppauge) found the back of the net at 34:04 followed closely by a shot and score by Pulaski, who was assisted by Gina Guardino (Lindenhurst, N.Y./ Lindenhurst).

The Eagles will host Centenary at 5 p.m. on Monday.  The match will also serve as the team's Kicks for Cancer game, the proceeds from which will be donated to both cancer research efforts as well as families of children with cancer.
