Women's Soccer Claims 2013 NSCAA Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Silver Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Twenty-five college teams and 15 fall high school teams earned the NSCAA's Gold Team Ethics Award for completing the entire 2013 season without receiving either a yellow or red card.   The 2013 St. Joseph's College women's soccer team, under the direction of head coach Joseph Lee, is one of 157 teams that have claimed the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards.

The honor recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

In all, 254 college teams received either the gold, silver or bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award. A total of 78 high school teams competing during the fall received either the gold, silver or bronze version of the inaugural High School Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award.

A level explanation is as follows:
Gold: No cards accumulated during the season
Silver: No red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season
Bronze: No more than 10 cards accumulated during the season
